Iran Deal:
No Cause for Celebration
By Freydoon Khoie

You can fool all the people some of the time,
and some of the people all the time,
but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

Abraham Lincoln

For 75 million Iranians living under the Khamnei’s terrorist, tyrannical, oppressive, utterly corrupt police state worse than Stalin’s communist Russia and Mao’s communist China, the so called ‘Iran Deal’ signed with the US led 5+1 countries without unconditional guarantees for urgent democratic reforms is not a cause for celebration.

With unemployment well over 40%, inflation out of control, negative economic growth, half of the population living under poverty line, gross mismanagement of every sector of the government, plummeting currency value to the degree that it is now on the list of Most Worthless Currencies, (before Khomaini’s glorious revolution the value of $1 equaled 70 Rials, today value of $1 equals 30,224 Rials), food shortages, institutional corruption,
over populated cities with chaotic traffic in which cars are burning domestically and inadequately refined gasoline pumping poisonous carbon dioxide into the air and killing scores of children and causing Asthma for millions whom are rejected by doctors and hospitals for both lack of medicine and money, in the meantime 12-14 year old girl prostitutes are roaming the streets covered with Islamic veil and young unemployed men are selling their kidneys for bread, and former prostitutes hired by the regime as ‘moral police’ harassing the already stressed and depressed young women for alleged violation of their dress code, the rising rate of executions is giving the Khamnei’s terrorist regime another first, having the world’s highest per capita rate of executions, torture of dissidents, religious minorities such as Bahais, Christians and Sunnis continue, and ethnic groups like Azeri, Ahwazi Arabs, Belouchis, Kurds persecutions go on unabated. Thousands of political activists and journalists are languishing in horrible prisons under inhumane conditions, and then the state controlled television show a triumphant Khamnei and Rouhani announcing the defeat of the Great Satan and the world powers. The scene should be labeled as a masterpiece production of divine comedy.

With such a national mood, our angry population is not interested in another one of Khamnei’s theatrical sermons filled with naked lies and nauseating claims recounting his victories over the enemy of the revolution and the great achievements of the glorious Islamist republic from his high up pulpit, out of reach from his ’devoted’ rent a crowd, heavily guarded with tattooed criminal gangs known as ‘revolutionary guards and Baseej militia’ whom are keeping him in power in return for cart blanche and free hand to loot and rape the nation like Nazis Black Shirts did in Czechoslovakia and Poland, and preparing to take the stash and settle down in Canada before the day of reckoning arrive.

Life under Khamnei’s regime is worse than Stalin’s police state in Communist Russia and Mao’s Communist China and I say worse than, because even in Communist Russia’s police state and Communist China’s tyrannical state, the average citizen had reasonable level of social and personal freedom to have a beer, sing a song, dance with opposite sex openly, or jump in the pool or the sea in bikini without being terrorized and terrified by KGB in Russia or MSS in China, but under the Khamnei’s bizarre and draconian theocracy, it look as though God of heaven and earth has completely forsaken the people of Iran and abandoned us already to hell on earth in which not only we have no political freedom, no economic freedom, no judicial and legal security, no religious freedom, we don’t even have such basic social and personal freedoms as to even choose our own dress code, our own television programs, hold a wedding party for our young without being forced to segregate the whole family with men in one room and women in another with no music, no dancing and not allowed to be happy, to be free to decide on drinking a beer or not, of having our own daughters wearing a bikini in the beach or not, freedom to establish coed schools for our children or not, having our children to enjoy socializing with the opposite sex without fear and terror. In essence the Mullah’s regime can be recorded as history’s darkest form of dictatorship that evil minds could ever design. This is why we, the people of Iran, believe that whoever collaborates and cajoles with these incarnate sons and daughters of evil will be recorded in our history as our national enemy.

So, President Obama’s words that ‘this is the beginning’ or Prime Minister Cameron’s guarded optimism is not a cause of celebration for the devastated people of Iran. For thirty four years Khamnei’s terrorist regime have been correctly portrayed as a monstrous regime and a rogue state, member of the axis of evil along with Saddam Hussein and North Korea’s Jung ill, yet, most of the European Union countries, not to mention India, Russia, China, South Africa and many other countries’ have been quietly doing business as usual with these atrocious elements showing no care or concern for what these savages are doing to the people of Iran and then imagine how do we feel to hear that all of a sudden the White House led 5+1 are willing to kiss and make up with the same regime who has been literally raping, looting and destroying our country and our people for 34 years!

One cannot help but to feel a sense déjà vu these days, being reminded of another betrayal by the so called world powers when the nation of Iran was stabbed in the back in Guadalupe conference in 1978 when President Jimmy Carter switched off the lights on the Shah of Iran, who was for 20 years an American ally and portrayed by the same world powers as a progressive, modern ruler by Islamic standards, yet suddenly, in 1977-1978, he was referred to as a monster by the international leftist media. Soon after becoming President in 1977, Jimmy Carter launched a deliberate campaign to undermine Iran’s progressive government. The Soviets and their left-wing apparatchiks would coordinate with Carter to smear the Monarchy in a campaign of lies meant to topple his throne. And results? The establishment of a Marxist/Islamist state in Iran headed by the tyrannical Khomeini. The Islamist revolution, besides enthroning one of the world's most oppressive regimes in Iran, would greatly contribute to the creation of the Marxist/Islamic terror network challenging the US hegemony in West Asia and much of the world for 34 years.

At the time, a senior Iranian diplomat in Washington observed, "President Carter betrayed the nation of Iran and helped create the vacuum that will soon be filled by Soviet-trained agents and religious fanatics who hate America." Under the guise of promoting" human rights," Carter made demands on Iran’s government while blackmailing Iran with the threat that if the demands weren't fulfilled, vital military aid and training would be withheld. This strange policy, carried out against a staunch, 20 year Middle East ally, was only similar to policies applied in the past by US governments to other allies such as pre-Mao China and pre-Castro Cuba, and we hear nothing of Jimmy Carter today when the scope of human rights atrocities committed by Khamnei’s regime has made former Shah of Iran look like mother Theresa in comparison. I hope President Carter is reading this and asking the Lord for forgiveness for his grave sins against the people of Iran.

In the 1978 meeting in Guadalupe, the American President Jimmy Carter, British Prime Minister Callahan and French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing and Germany’s Willy Brandt, in collaboration with their Russian counterpart decided to support Khomaini and bring him to Paris from Iraq, and provide him security and a platform to utilize the Western media and brainwash the world with such misleading nonsense that the nationalist, progressive, pro-western and civilized Shah of Iran was a bad guy and the primitive, fanatic, regressive, violent, vengeful and savage mullah like Khomaini was a good guy and as a result of this idiotic foreign policy cooked up by such megalomaniacs like Brzezinski and Cyrus Vance the Western block in general and the Americans in particular have been paying the heavy price with American blood and trillions of dollars of tax payer’s money, the 9/11 tragedy and now the humiliation of having to negotiate with an unrepentant terrorist and sworn American enemy like Khamnei. I wish there was a law that we could prosecute Jimmy carter, Cyrus Vance, Brzezinski, Prime Minister Callahan, Giscard d’Estaing, Willy Brandt and others responsible for these historical and criminal negligent that ended up causing so much human tragedies for Iranian and the world. Even Jimmy Carter himself called his book: “Good Intentions, Wrong Policies”. And who made those wrong policies and who paid for them?

The so called world powers led by Jimmy Carter made those wrong policies. And millions of innocent people of Iran paid and still pay the heavy price for those ‘wrong policies’. Millions horrifically oppressed at home, another million killed and maimed in Iraq war, other millions forced to flee and are scattered around the world as refugees living miserable lives in ignominy and disgrace, while other millions are living under fear and terror and enduring abhorring and inhumane prison conditions. So Jimmy carter should remember that with his ‘wrong policies’ he had devastated the nation of Iran and destroyed the lives of several generations.

Today, and 35 years later, the United States President Obama and John Kerry remind me of Jimmy Carter and Cyrus Vance in 1977-78 but with an historical opportunity to right the wrongs done to the people of Iran by Jimmy Carter’s catastrophic ‘Wrong Policies’ and set the record straight that despite Carter’s actions to the contrary the Americans do care for the people of Iran and will support their fight for freedom and will stand by them in this darkest hour of our history and emphatically include in the conditions for easing the economic sanction such important clauses as political reform, respect for basic human rights, and the right of the people of Iran to choose their own government, and the type of constitution and to provide iron clad guarantees for political and religious freedoms so that we, the people of Iran, can remove these tyrants from power and start building a new, free and civilized Iran and deliver our over-abused nation from tyranny and oppression.

I must also add, that this time around, we, the freedom loving people of Iran who seek true democracy and secular constitution are not going to sit back and do nothing like our fathers and we are putting our right foot in the right place and stand firm and are openly and without hesitation warning the leaders of 5+1 to stop their policies of appeasement, expediency and secret dealings with Khamnei’s tyranny and throw their weight behind freedom and democracy in Iran or be prepared to face the wrath of twenty five million angry young nationalist Iranians who have nothing to lose and are ready to fight to the very end.

Khomaini’s police state in Iran allows no opposition and even the opposition leaders from its own rank and file like Mousavi and Karubbi are kept under house arrest for years. Here is a state that was created on false and fraudulent promises and deceived our faithful nation with lies and defrauded us with a constitution that has given absolute powers to few unelected mullahs in such abnormal bodies like supreme Leader, Assembly of Experts, Guardian Council, and Expediency Council, and these same unelected bodies routinely orchestrate mock elections for their own hand-picked candidates and threaten the citizens with imprisonment, loss of jobs or education if they refuse to vote and then they call the results ‘Islamic democracy’ with such trappings as parliament, executive branch, and judiciary, all engineered to be obedient to the will of the unelected bodies mentioned above. Talk about making a mockery of democracy and travesty of justice.

And this the regime that the 5+1 and the world’s oldest democracies like the United States, the UK, France and Germany (we are not concerned with Russia and China because they are not a democracy yet) are negotiating with. How ridiculous and absurd the world has become?

The people of Iran have every right to expect the leaders of the free and democratic nations to behave in a manner compatible with moral law, and civilized norms especially when it comes to protection of human rights and fundamental liberties of all people. Are the representatives of 5+1 countries pushing Rohani and Khamnei and warning them of the day of reckoning? And did they tell Rouhani that democracy, human rights, Political, religious and social liberties in Iran are just as important as stopping their nuclear bomb program and are the condition for easing sanctions? If not, then what was the point of the sanctions for ten years causing such enormous hardship for the people of Iran and loss of business for much of the world?

Current events are a disappointment for those of us who work so hard to pressure Khamnei’s regime and support the toughest economic, political and diplomatic sanctions against khamnei’s terrorist regime - the same sanctions that brought the tyrants to the negotiating table should be used to remove them from power. Those western leaders toying with these sanctions do not appear to understand the fragility of sanctions or the dangers of rolling them back and easing the economic pressure on Khamnei’s regime without forcing him to make concrete promises for political reform before Iran is plunged into civil war. The people of Iran never wanted to have a theocratic regime that strangulates human liberties. The people of Iran are inherently Euro-centric and want to have a secular political system like Turkey and a European life-style and eventually even join the European Union and not to be ruled by mentally deranged mullahs with seventh century mindset in a 21st century age.

The whole world and 5+1 powers in particular should take note that our pro-democracy struggle will continue unabated and at all costs, until we have removed Khamnei from power, dissolved the Islamist dominated parliament, abolished the current Islamist constitution and established a secular constitution and a two-party political system with a completely independent judicial branch. The Russians and the Chinese rulers, as well as the American, the British, the French and the German leaders will do well to get on the right side of history and stand by the people of Iran and openly and emphatically insist that the Khamnei’s illegitimate, tyrannical and oppressive regime must come to an end so that the people of Iran are able to choose their own political system and their leaders in truly free and fair elections and join the free and democratic family of nations and bring to a close this darkest chapter in our political history and put an end to the season of global Islamist terrorism which has retarded economic growth, peace and progress for the people of West Asia and North Africa and endangered the world peace. God will remain on the side of righteousness.
